There are easy ways to make your home the perfect spot in which to entertain this summer.
Is it time to have the neighbours over for a backyard barbie? Or do you want to impress your friends with cocktails and canapes by the pool? Whatever the outdoor space you have, there are easy ways to make it the perfect spot in which to entertain at home this summer.
Our experienced real estate agents have recently sold properties in Adelaide’s north, inner east and far north suburbs with exciting entertainment spaces… check them out!
Priority Seating… In Your Pergola
If you have a party-sized pergola with an outdoor TV like the one at 12B Eliza Street Salisbury recently sold by Boffo real estate agents Paul Leombruno and Kulldip Dudi, then you have the perfect place for you and your mates to watch the cricket with free front-row seating!
You have an uninterrupted view of the pitch, there are no lengthy queues when you’re ready for an icy drink and a snack, an outdoor fan will keep everyone cool and a comfy outdoor lounge beats the seats at Adelaide Oval any day!
Crackers And… Dips In The Pool
Sales agents Allison Bartlett and Lidija Kies are pretty sure that drinks and nibbles with your favourite people will taste so much better beside a sparkling inground pool such as the one at 104 Lambert Road in Royston Park.
When the temperature soars as it inevitably does during the Adelaide summer, your poolside alfresco is where everyone will want to be. A home with a swimming pool presents the perfect opportunity to host pool parties with champers on ice, easy-listening music and delicious share platters. But don’t forget to tell your guests to bring their bathers and be sure to provide sunblock for everyone!
Come For Dinner, Stay For Breakfast
When your five bedroom property in Adelaide’s far northern suburbs spans a whopping 68400sqm, you have loads of room for overnight guests. At 4 Melville Road Gould Creek, recently sold by Boffo sales agent Robert Lonie, home entertaining means ‘come for a meal, and stay a few days!’
With five bedrooms in the residence and plenty of land for guests to bunk down in swags, tents or campervans, the party can just keep going! Add in a spectacular swimming pool and a magnificent kitchen able to cater for groups, and you have the perfect setting for entertaining at home this summer.
No Pergola, Pool, or Plus-Sized Property? No Worries!
You really don’t need anything special to entertain at home in summer. After all, if you want fancy-schmancy you can go out!
The best thing about home entertaining is the relaxed vibe and the special people you enjoy spending time with. Here are our top tips and tricks for stress-free entertaining at home…
- Plan ahead. Impromptu can be nice too, but if you’re not an experienced home entertainer it is better to plan ahead and make sure you have everything you need.
- Utilise your home’s best features. A table and chairs under a shady tree or umbrella is great if you don’t have a pergola. Host movie nights with pizza if you have a home theatre, invite friends for barbecues if your kitchen is small.
- Prepare your home. Tidying up and cleaning the house shows your guests that you want them to feel comfortable. If there is a chance some guests may stay overnight, have spare bedrooms ready and clean the bathrooms they will use.
- Plan what will go where. Decide where you will put the drinks, glasses and food before your guests arrive.
- Add a few special touches. Make your guests feel welcome with drinks ready on ice, pre-dinner nibbles, table decorations and mozzie candles if you’re outside in the evening.
- Don’t forget introductions. When your guests arrive make sure you introduce everyone if some of your guests haven’t met before.
