Windsor Gardens is one of our favourite suburbs in Adelaide's popular north east.
Just 10 kms from the Adelaide CBD and surrounded by in-demand suburbs like Paradise and Campbelltown, we think Windsor Gardens is a winner for lots of reasons. Here are our top 5:
Close to everything
At Windsor Gardens, the city and Tea Tree Plaza are both just 15 minutes away. Some of the most beautiful sections of Linear Park are within walking distance, along with the O'Bahn at Paradise Interchange. Plus the shopping centres, specialty stores, pubs and eateries of North East and Lower North East Roads are all just around the corner.
A nice blend of old and new
Windsor Gardens is currently undergoing a facelift. Lots of the attractive older homes are being upgraded and renovated, with many of the tired 1950s and 60s houses being replaced by modern courtyard homes. Although there’s a lot of redevelopment happening, blocks of land are usually divided into no more than two allotments, so it doesn’t feel overdeveloped or crowded.
A hive of activity
If you like staying active, you’ll love Windsor Gardens. You have a plethora of fitness centres and gyms nearby, including the fantastic ARC at Campbelltown. There are walking and cycling trails aplenty too, including the River Torrens Windsor Gardens circuit, a picturesque 7.9km loop amongst the trees and birds of Linear Park. Black Hill, Morialta and Thorndon Park are also great spots for a hike or bushwalk. For something different, how about trying the local virtual reality climbing or escape rooms?
A nice mix of neighbours
There’s no one demographic that greatly outnumbers any other in Windsor Gardens. In fact it’s a pretty even spread from 20 years of age up to 70+, made up of long-standing residents, families with young kids, young couples and singles. It’s a great mix that enables almost anyone to feel like part of the local community quickly.
It's good value
Windsor Gardens is something of a hidden gem, sometimes overshadowed by its better-known neighbours like Dernancourt and Campbelltown. That means there’s still value to be found here for buyers and renters, especially given the surburb’s proximity to the city and facilities.
