6 Signs You're Ready
To Sell

When it’s time to sell your home, we know it’s not always a simple decision.

You haven’t just lived there – you’ve had Christmas dinners in the dining room, cooked countless meals in your kitchen, and your bedroom has always been your sanctuary.

Sometimes though, you might find yourself growing out of your home or needing to make a change. If you’re not sure if the time is right, here are six signs that selling your home might be the right move for you.

1. You need more room, or more rooms

With just you or your significant other you probably had plenty of room. Once you have kids in the house though, it might start to feel more cosy. If you’re not in the position to renovate or extend, it might be time to find something that has a bit more room for everybody.

2. You've found yourself in an empty nest

It can happen so fast – one minute you have a hoard of hungry teenagers, the next they’ve flown the coop! Downsizing is a wonderful opportunity to find something that better suits your needs, requires less maintenance but still has room for the family visits. Whether it’s an apartment, a lock up and leave, or a townhouse, there are plenty of great options for when the nest is suddenly empty.

3. Right house, wrong street

You might feel like you’ve got the perfect home, but the street’s not quite right. Perhaps you’ve started a new job in another area, or your kids are heading to a different school. For some people the location of your home is a big part of your lifestyle, so it might be time to move on to a home in an area that cuts down the commute time.

4. You're ready for a change

Sometimes, you just feel like a change! There’s the classic sea change, but you might also be looking for a cottage in the foothills where you can grow the veggie garden of your dreams. Others fancy being closer to the city, to stay close to your favourite restaurants and shopping. Wherever suits you best, sometimes it’s just the right time to make a move.

5. Getting into the school zone

When it comes to school, it may help to be in the right zone for the particular zone your kids are heading to. Plus, the school-run could be a lot shorter!

6. The market's right

You might have just heard that your neighbour’s house sold, and for a good price. Our agents can make an assessment of the market in your area, and advise if the time is right to get some returns on your home if you've been thinking of making a change.
