Felixstow is one of Adelaide's hidden gem suburbs.
A vibrant community just a 10-minute drive from the CBD, Felixstow has it all – walking trails and parks, schools, shopping, cafes, childcare and plenty more. We had to share a few of our favourite parts about this stunning suburb in Adelaide's north-east.
A place that’s well placed
With Payneham Road on one side and Linear Park on the other, Felixstow is perfectly located in Adelaide’s inner north east. You’re close to nature and the beautiful River Torrens, close to the city (10 minutes) and close to the cafes and pubs of the Parade (5 minutes). You also have the Marden Shopping Centre, Foodland Felixstow and Mercato, the Italian market and cafe, just around the corner.
It’s quite quiet
Although OG Road and Payneham Roads form its boundary, Felixstow is a quiet and leafy suburb with almost no through traffic. As well as having Linear Park on your doorstep, you’re just moments from the beautiful Felixstow Park, the perfect spot for a picnic, barbie or game of cricket.
The convenience of public transport
A short walk along Linear Park and you’re at the Klemzig O’Bahn interchange. From here it’s just minutes to the city by bus, or about 10 minutes to Tea Tree Plaza. You also have bus stops on Payneham and OG Roads for easy access to the eastern suburbs and city.
Friendly for families
As with most inner city suburbs, Felixstow is in the midst of a Renaissance. There’s a nice mix of older homes with large gardens and newer homes on subdivided blocks. With its proximity to open green spaces, good schools and the city, Felixstow is ideal for families, young couples and downsizers looking for low maintenance living.
It’s a great place to keep moving
If you love being active, you’re spoilt for choice at Felixstow. Linear Park’s walking and cycling trails are right next door, while the wonderful fitness and sporting facilities of the ARC Campbelltown and the Payneham Swimming Centre are both within walking distance.
