New Suburbs Coming To SA Real Estate

Spanning the Gawler Belt in Adelaide’s north to Port Stanvac in the glorious southern corridor, Adelaide real estate is set to expand...

...with six new development sites delivering up to 24,000 new homes.

Initiatives of the Department for Housing and Urban Development, these six real estate projects are planned for metropolitan and regional areas, easing South Australia’s housing crisis while providing sustainable and affordable living with a community focus.

Gawler Belt

28 hectares are being developed to provide 350 new homes near the Barossa Valley in Adelaide’s far north. As part of the Roseworthy Township Expansion project, this real estate development features large lots and a rural community lifestyle, with 15% set aside for affordable housing.

Dry Creek

Also in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, Dry Creek’s salt pans will undergo rezoning and water-sensitive urban redesign to become one of Adelaide’s largest urban expansion projects with up to 15,000 new homes. Featuring a town centre with retail, dining, entertainment, education and healthcare facilities, Dry Creek will become home to 35,000 residents with 15% affordable homes planned.

Playford Alive East

An expansion of the Playford Alive project, Playford Alive East will deliver 1300 new homes to the northern suburb of Munno Para. With a focus on affordability and sustainability, the project will feature diverse housing amidst green spaces with 30% earmarked for affordable housing in Adelaide’s north.

Southwark

Set on the site of the former West End Brewery, the new housing development named Southwark is just 3kms from the CBD. Up to 1300 sites will facilitate high density housing with easy city access, focussed on accessibility, sustainability and a community lifestyle. Plans for Southwark include dining, retail and entertainment venues with 20% attributed to affordable living.

Port Stanvac

Around the old Port Stanvac oil refinery site, 230 hectares of coastal land is being redeveloped for environmentally friendly urban living. Plans include a town centre with waterfront recreational areas and 3600 energy efficient homes, with 15% earmarked for affordable housing.

Onkaparinga Heights

Up to 2,000 new homes will be built in the beautiful southern corridor with easy access to the Southern Expressway. A focus on water and energy conservation will provide sustainable living in Onkaparinga Heights, with 20% allocated as affordable homes.
